The Oppo A16 was launched in Indonesia as a budget proposal, replacing the Oppo A15 from last October. The phone has thin bezels on the sides and a thick chin. It comes with a notched display and triple rear camera. The Oppo A16 is offered in three colors and with one RAM + storage configuration. The phone packs a large 5000mAh battery and also features a super night standby mode to further reduce power consumption.

Oppo A16 is an by price priced at IDR 1,999,000 (approximately Rs 10,300) for a single 3GB + 32GB storage model. It is offered in the colors Crystal Black, Pearl Blue and Space Silver. The phone is sold in Indonesia and Oppo has not yet shared any information on international availability.

The Oppo A16 runs ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11. It features a 6.52-inch HD + (720×1600 pixels) display with 60Hz refresh rate, 60Hz touch sampling rate, 269ppi pixel density and 480 nits maximum brightness. It has an 88.7% screen-to-body ratio and a 1500: 1 contrast ratio. Under the hood, the Oppo A16 packs a MediaTek Helio G35 SoC paired with an IMG GE8320 GPU, 3GB LPDDR4x RAM, and 32GB eMMC 5.1 storage that can be expanded with microSD cards.
For photos and videos, the phone is equipped with a triple rear camera that includes a 13MP main sensor with f / 2.2 lens, 2MP macro with f / 2.4 aperture and a 2MP monochrome sensor with f / 2.4 lens. On the front, the Oppo A16 sports an 8MP sensor with an f / 2.0 lens for selfies and video calling.
Connectivity options include 4G, dual band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth v5, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C charging port. Sensors on board the Oppo A16 include a geomagnetic sensor, an ambient light sensor, a proximity sensor, an accelerometer, and a gravity sensor. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, as well as support for face unlock. The phone has a 5000 mAh battery. The Oppo A16 measures 163.8×75.6×8.4mm and weighs 190 grams.
