OnePlus to launch second phone in one region on February 7th

OnePlus has confirmed that it will release a second phone alongside the OnePlus 11 on February 7th.

After the news was leaked via Amazon’s erroneous listing, OnePlus took to Twitter to confirm that it would be announcing the OnePlus 11R at its February 7th launch event.

As a source it follows from this confirmation that the OnePlus 11R will only be released for India. This follows from last year’s OnePlus 10R, which was also targeted at India, which has become the main market for the Oppo-owned brand.

The accompanying promotional video for the OnePlus 11R claims that the phone will represent a form of power. And this despite the fact that it will almost certainly be significantly cheaper than the OnePlus 11 flagship.

To that end, reports suggest that the OnePlus 11R will feature a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chip. It’s older and slower (and therefore cheaper) than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 that powers the OnePlus 11, but is still a very a powerful component for a mid-range phone.

It has also been claimed that the OnePlus 11R could have a 5,000mAh battery and support for 100W charging, which is on par with the OnePlus 11.

Dubbed “Cloud 11”, OnePlus’ launch event on February 7 will also see the global debut of the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 true wireless earbuds, with their quirky spatial and Dynaudio-enhanced sound.

Meanwhile, India will get another exclusive device in the form of the OnePlus TV 65 Q2 Pro.
