OnePlus foldable smartphone unveiled at OnePlus 11 launch event to launch in Q3 2023

OnePlus launched several devices, including the OnePlus 11 5G and OnePlus 11R 5G, during the Cloud 11 presentation on Tuesday. The company also took the opportunity to show us its upcoming foldable smartphones. The teaser only reveals that the Shenzhen-based company plans to bring foldable smartphones to market sometime in the third quarter of 2023. According to recent leaks, OnePlus will introduce two foldable smartphones – OnePlus V Flip and OnePlus V. Fold.

Towards the end of OnePlus 11 event trigger on Tuesday, the company briefly talked about an upcoming launch in the third quarter of 2023. The teaser shows what appears to be a foldable smartphone. The full design, specifications and nicknames are still under wraps. However, OnePlus has confirmed that we can expect something “phenomenal” in the third quarter of 2023.

Recently, whistleblower Mukul Sharma leaked a screenshot of trademarks registered by OnePlus. The leaked listings have suggested that the company’s upcoming foldable smartphone could be called the OnePlus V Fold and OnePlus V Flip. In addition, Sharma believes that internal testing of at least one of these models has already begun in several regions, including Europe.

OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau previously shared an image of a hinge mechanism indicating the company is working on a foldable device. At the time, it was believed that the company’s foldable device would be based on the Oppo Find N.

However, Oppo Find N2 and Oppo Find N2 Flip have since been launched in China. There are also reports that the Oppo Find N2 Flip could debut in India in February. We may not see much change in the OnePlus V Fold as the Oppo Find N2 is not expected to launch globally. On the other hand, OnePlus will have to differentiate the OnePlus V Flip from the Oppo Find N2 Flip.
