The OnePlus 9RT was launched on Wednesday, October 13th as the company’s latest smartphone in the OnePlus 9 series. The new phone, which is an update to the OnePlus 9R, features triple rear cameras that include a 50MP main sensor, 120Hz AMOLED display and an octa-core processor. Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC. Alongside the OnePlus 9RT, OnePlus unveiled the OnePlus Buds Z2 at its live event. The company’s new Trule Wireless Stereo Headphones (TWS) come with Active Noise Canceling (ANC) support and include 11mm drivers. The latency of the OnePlus Buds Z2 is 94 milliseconds – less than the original OnePlus Buds Z at 103 milliseconds.
OnePlus 9RT, OnePlus Buds Z2 price, availability
The OnePlus 9RT is priced at Rs 3299 (roughly Rs 38,600) for the base 8GB RAM + 128GB variant and Rs 3499 (roughly Rs 40,900) for the 8GB + 256GB model. The phone also comes in a top-end 12GB + 256GB version, priced at CNY 3799 (roughly Rs 44,400). The OnePlus 9RT will go on sale in China from October 19 and will be available with a discount of RMB 100 (roughly Rs 1,200) on the first day of sale.
On the other hand, the OnePlus Buds Z2 is priced at 499 Yuan (roughly Rs 5800). The earbuds will be available for purchase in China from October 19th. Buyers who purchase OnePlus Buds Z2 on the first day of sale will also be eligible for a CNY 100 discount.
Both the OnePlus 9RT and OnePlus Buds Z2 will be available for pre-order in China from Wednesday.
Details of the launch in India of the OnePlus 9RT and OnePlus Buds Z2 have yet to be announced. OnePlus said at the event that it is confident it will reach 10 million worldwide sales in 2021.
Features OnePlus 9RT
The OnePlus 9RT Dual SIM (Nano) runs Android 11 with Oppo’s ColorOS. It features a 6.62-inch Samsung E4 AMOLED display with Full HD + resolution (1080 x 2400 pixels) with an aspect ratio of 20: 9, a maximum brightness of 1300 nits and a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The display also has 100% DCI-P3 color gamut and has a touchscreen sampling rate of 1300 Hz. Under the hood, the OnePlus 9RT houses an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC, as well as up to 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The phone comes with a triple rear camera that houses a 50MP main Sony IMX766 sensor. It’s the same camera sensor that’s also available on the OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro, and the OnePlus Nord 2. It is also an update to the 48MP Sony IMX586 main sensor available on the OnePlus 9R. In addition, the main sensor is equipped with an f / 1.8 lens with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS).
Along with a 50MP primary sensor, the OnePlus 9RT has a 16MP secondary sensor with an f / 2.2 ultra wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro. There is also a dual LED flash. The rear camera setup enables video recording up to 4K and is combined with hybrid focusing.
For selfies and video chats, the OnePlus 9RT features a 16MP Sony IMX471 selfie camera sensor on the front with a 1 micron pixel size and an f / 2.4 aperture lens. The front camera also includes Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS).
The OnePlus 9RT offers up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Connectivity options include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS / A-GPS, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Sensors on board include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.
OnePlus brought two stereo speakers to the OnePlus 9RT, as well as Dolby Atmos support. The phone has a 4500mAh dual cell battery that supports 65T Warp Charge fast charging. In addition, it measures 162.2 x 74.6 x 8.29 mm and weighs 198.5 grams.
Features OnePlus Buds Z2
The OnePlus Buds Z2 features 11mm dynamic drivers – slightly larger than the 10mm driver unit available on the OnePlus Buds Z. The earbuds also have Bluetooth v5.2 connectivity, which is said to deliver 94 milliseconds of latency. To improve sound quality, the new OnePlus Buds TWS earbuds are equipped with ANC support to reduce noise by up to 40dB. There are three microphones for ANC as well as voice calls.
OnePlus claims the Buds Z2 earbuds are capable of up to 38 hours of battery life on a single charge. The earbuds have a 40mAh battery that is rated for up to seven hours of playtime. The company also provided a 520mAh battery in a charging case, which helps boost overall battery life.
The OnePlus Buds Z2 TWS earbuds are IP55 certified, although the charging case is IPX4 certified.
Similar to the OnePlus Buds Z and many other headphones in the same segment, the OnePlus Buds Z2 comes with touch controls and includes a transparency mode that helps users hear background sounds when needed.
The OnePlus Buds Z2 earbuds measure 33×22.44×21.81mm and weigh 4.5 grams each. The supplied charging case measures 73.15×36.80×29.07 mm and weighs 40.5 grams.
