The OnePlus 9RT has been spotted in benchmarks, which suggests the launch isn’t that far off, and that it might be more powerful than we originally thought.
We have previously reported rumors of the so-called OnePlus 9RT. It should be a sequel to the OnePlus 9R and, like this phone, will likely only be available in certain territories like China and India.
What’s more, with the confirmed absence of the OnePlus 9T, this could very well be the only phone the brand will launch in late 2021.
In terms of specs, we’ve heard rumors that the OnePlus 9RT will be powered by a Snapdragon 870 processor. Now it turns out that the last rumor may have been wrong and that it could have been much more powerful.
The OnePlus 9RT has just appeared on the website of the popular benchmarking tool, Geekbench 5. These results point to a faster Snapdragon 888 processor along with 12GB of RAM. This is some kind of flagship-level performance.
Aside from these specs, we expect the OnePlus 9RT to come with a 120Hz AMOLED panel and a 50MP Sony IMX766 camera sensor, just like the OnePlus 9 Pro, OnePlus 9 and OnePlus Nord 2 before it.
We’ve also received numerous reports that the phone will be the first phone from the brand to run Android 12, with a custom OxygenOS 12 skin sited on top.
However, this latest Geekbench result (according to MySmartPrice) shows that the device is still running Android 11. It is possible that the latest version of the hardware will receive an update by the time of launch, which, apparently, is not far away.
