OnePlus 9, OnePlus 9 Pro receive new OxygenOS 12 C.40 update based on Android 12 with bug fixes

The OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro smartphones are receiving the new OxygenOS 12 update based on Android 12, this third update aims to fix remaining issues that were not resolved in previous updates. OnePlus says the latest update also improves the software experience. Earlier this year, the Chinese company suspended the Android 12 update for the OnePlus 9 series smartphones after it became known to be buggy. It is noteworthy that this is essentially the third update in a month.

In accordance with announcement On the OnePlus Forum, the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro smartphones in India and North America are getting the update. OnePlus 9 in India receives software version LE2111_11_C.40 and LE2115_11_C.40 in North America. Likewise, the OnePlus 9 Pro receives LE2121_11_C.40 in India and LE2125_11_C.40 in North America.

The changelog states that the update fixed the issue of the system update failing in certain scenarios, as well as the issue of not being able to access the 5G network in some scenarios. OnePlus is also reporting that the OxygenOS 12 update for the OnePlus 9 and OnePlus 9 Pro also offers improved software and “fixes several outstanding issues” from the latest update. “As always, this OTA will be optional. Today, OTA will reach a small percentage of users and we will begin a wider rollout in a few days, ”the company said.

The latest update brings many changes, including improved smoothness of fingerprint unlocking, optimized system power consumption and a fix for screen tearing when returning to the home screen after playing some games. It also brought the December 2021 Android security patch. As a reminder, the first Android 12 update for the OnePlus 9 Pro and OnePlus 9, presented in early December, was met with backlash from users as it contained many bugs.
