The OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are getting the stable version of OxygenOS 10.3.12 based on Android 10. The update is related to the July 2021 Android security patch and contains system stability improvements as well as fixes for known issues. OnePlus also mentioned that the rollout is region independent and will eventually reach all users. The OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T are expected to receive the stable version of the Android 11 based OxygenOS 11 update soon, as smartphones have already received its open beta.
According to message On its official community forum, OnePlus announced that its flagship smartphones from 2018 – OnePlus 6 (Review) and OnePlus 6T (Review) – are receiving the latest Android security update from July 2021 with OxygenOS 10.3.12 update. Along with these, there are some unspecified system stability improvements and fixes for known issues. The post does not mention which region will receive the update first, just the update will be rolled out to all users in stages.
The size of the update is not yet known. Users are advised to update their eligible phones while connected to a reliable Wi-Fi connection and on charging. The update should arrive automatically, but users can manually check it by going to Settings> System> System Updates…
Earlier this month, OnePlus announced that the OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T received the OxygenOS 11 open beta update based on Android 11. This was the third major software update for smartphones that launched in 2018 with Android 8.1 Oreo and subsequently received Android updates. 9 Pie and Android 10. Open beta testing means that some smartphone users will be able to test new software and report any bugs to OnePlus so that the company can release a stable update to all users.
