While OnePlus has mentioned that its new phones will run OxygenOS 13 at launch, it hasn’t revealed any details about the software updates. Now, a tweet from the OnePlus Official Descriptor has provided more details on both the Android updates and related security updates coming to the OnePlus 11R 5G.
Found a tipster Abhishek Yadavinformation comes through tweet from the official OnePlus Support Twitter handle in response to a user request. In a tweet, OnePlus claims to offer four years of Android updates and up to five years of security updates. This will mean OnePlus will put Android 17 on its 11R 5G phone whenever it arrives, which seems like a big commitment. The OnePlus 11R 5G certainly seems like a big upgrade over the OnePlus 10R 5G as it brings back the traditional OnePlus design aesthetic after taking a different approach to its predecessor last year. The new model also includes an alert slider button, a common feature on OnePlus phones that was missing from the previous model. The OnePlus 11R 5G shares a lot in terms of design with the high-end OnePlus 11 5G, making it a more attractive device than its predecessor, as outlined in our first impressions.
The OnePlus 11R 5G is available in two colors: Galactic Silver and Sonic Black. The phone is equipped with a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2772 x 1240 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, and the phone offers up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage. There is a 50-megapixel main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 2-megapixel macro camera. Selfie takes 8-megapixel front camera. The phone packs a 5,000mAh battery and supports 100W wired charging.
The OnePlus 11 5G we reviewed features the top-end Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC and a QHD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate. There’s also a high-resolution 48MP ultra wide-angle camera and a 32MP telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom. The phone still lacks wireless charging and the official IP rating of other flagship smartphones.
