OnePlus 11 5G confirmed to be IP64 rated in all markets: report
The OnePlus 11 5G was launched in India and other global markets on February 7th. The Chinese smartphone maker’s first flagship smartphone in a year debuted with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, 100W SuperVOOC fast charging, and Hasselblad-tuned rear cameras. However, one specific specification, namely the ingress protection (IP) rating of a device, which indicates the level of protection against dust and water, was reportedly not confirmed at launch. A new report has confirmed that OnePlus has reported that the OnePlus 11 5G smartphone has an IP64 rating in all markets.
According to GSMArena reportOnePlus has not been consistent in informing media publications about the IP rating the phone has when announcing its latest OnePlus 11 5G. However, upon request, the publication was able to obtain confirmation from the Chinese smartphone maker that its latest flagship smartphone has an IP64 rating in all markets.
The report states that OnePlus 11 5G devices shipped worldwide may not even be IP64 rated except for devices in the US or North America. devices is added to the report.
The two-digit number attached to the IP rating is an indication of the level of protection a device has against dust and water. The first digit indicates the level of protection that the device’s outer case provides to its inner case against solid particles or dust, and the second digit indicates the level of protection against liquids or water.
Thus, the OnePlus 11 5G smartphone with IP64 rating has the 6th level of protection against solid particles and the 4th level of protection against liquid particles. This means that, unlike some cheaper smartphones like the Samsung Galaxy A33 5G and Google Pixel 6a, which are priced under Rs. At the 55,000 mark, the OnePlus 11 5G is only designed to be splash resistant and doesn’t guarantee water submersion protection.
