Nothing, the British electronics brand backed by OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei, is all set to host a virtual event today. The launch event will announce plans for the release of Nothing’s products for the year and stream them live through the company’s official channels. The exact details of what Nothing will present at the event have yet to be officially revealed, but the company is expected to announce its first smartphone. The smartphone may have a transparent design similar to the first pair of true wireless stereo headphones (TWS) Nothing released in 2021. The upcoming smartphone from Nothing is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC.

While Nothing has provided no specific details on what it will bring at the launch event, the company is believed to be unveiling the long-awaited Nothing phone.
Last month, Pei teased the new smartphone in a series of cryptic tweets. The phone may have a transparent design, such as the Nothing Ear 1 TWS earbuds that were released in 2021. Rumor has it that Nothing Phone is also likely to run Android 12 out of the box with a few tweaks on top of the stock experience. It can be powered by Snapdragon SoC.
Separately, Nothing recently announced a new $70 million (roughly Rs. 534 crore) funding round led by venture capital firms EQT Ventures and C Ventures. Company confirmed that the funding will be used to create new product categories in partnership with Qualcomm Technologies and its Snapdragon platform, and to expand operations at the new London Design Centre.
Nothing started its journey with the launch last year of the Ear 1 True Wireless Stereo Headphones (TWS) with a transparent design. The premium headphones came with active noise cancellation (ANC), cross-platform support, and wireless charging to attract consumers.
