Motorola is due to release two Razr phones in 2023, and that’s not counting the global launch of the Moto Razr 2022.
Reliable online whistleblower Evan Blass, also known as evleaks, tweeted the following:
Blass claims two Motorola Razr phones will be released in 2023, one codenamed Juno and the other Venus. As he points out, the Razr 2022 is codenamed Maven, so it won’t take up any of those slots.
Indeed, the tweet seems to serve as further confirmation that the global launch of the Moto Razr 2022 is imminent. The compact folding model was launched in China back on August 11, but since then we’ve only heard rumors of a wider launch.
Some of these rumors have taken the form of leaked renders from evleaks itself. They looked very formal and contained English text, WhatsApp messages (the messaging service is banned in China), and other references to Western culture.
As for the exact nature of these Juno and Venus phones, Blass can’t add anything specific. However, as indicated Central Android, we have already heard mentions of this Juno phone. Earlier rumors have mentioned this codename in connection with the Razr 2022 sequel, suggesting that it will be another compact foldable smartphone in the style of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4.
To expand on this analogy, could this mean the Venus will be a full-size foldable model of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4? That would be a logical conclusion, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Another device that could be is a retail model of Motorola’s recently introduced flip phone. However, this vertically expanding phone has been claimed to be codenamed Felix, which seems to rule it out.
Be that as it may, one thing seems certain: Motorola will release foldable devices in 2023 with its Razr line.
