Membership Now: Free Trial & Discounts

Now (formerly Now TV) is a UK-based streaming service with a slight difference. It doesn’t offer any originals of its own, but instead is the best way to stream all the exclusive content that Sky subscribers get at a much lower monthly price than what you pay for Sky itself.

There’s nothing wrong with getting Sky means not only all movies at Sky Cinema – with more big blockbusters than Netflix or Amazon can muster – but all of Sky Atlantic’s TV offerings, including giant HBO hits like The Last of Us, the House of the Dragon and the White Lotus.

Now’s only real downside compared to its main competitors is that all of that content is split into the company’s four different subscription packages: Entertainment, Cinema, Hayu (reality TV), and Sport.

However, there are ways to get this membership for less than the standard price.

Does Now offer a free trial?

Previously, it was possible to get 7-day free trials for most memberships. Sad, Now no longer offers free trials.

If you want to watch The Last of Us, you can watch the first episode for free on YouTube. However, you still have to pay for a Now subscription to watch the rest.

If you want movies, you need Sky Cinema at £9.99 per month; if you want TV box sets and all the latest major US shows like The Last of Us you want entertainment at £9.99 per month; and if you want to watch American reality shows like Keeping Up with the Kardashians or The Real Housewives, you’ll need a Hayu membership, which costs £4.99 a month.

A Sky Sports membership costs £11.98 for a day pass or £33.99 for a month. The former also includes a 9-month mobile pass that offers four Sky Sports TV live channels – but only if you’re watching from your phone.

There is a 7-day free trial of Now Boost that adds FHD quality, ad-free streaming, and surround sound. All this is not included in the standard package. After that, Now Boost costs £6 per month.

Does Now offer membership discounts?

While free trials are not available, there are still ways to get one now for less than the full price. At the time of writing, you can get a 20% discount on your Entertainment or Cinema membership if you sign up for six months.
