List of best-selling iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max smartphones in Q1 2022: IDC

The iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 Pro Max reportedly took the top two spots on the list of best-selling smartphones for the first quarter of 2022. This information comes from IDC analyst Francisco Jeronimo, who shared the top five best-selling smartphones in the first quarter of 2022. Another Apple phone made it to the fourth position on this list. The remaining two places on the third and fifth places were occupied by phones from Samsung. However, the information shared by Geronimo does not include the actual number of units sold for these smartphones.

Geronimo published this information on Twitter, which says that the smartphone market was dominated by Apple in the first quarter of 2022, with the iPhone 13 in first place. It is followed by the iPhone 13 Pro Max with a 6.7-inch per second display. Meanwhile, the 6.1-inch iPhone 13 Pro managed to take fourth place, which may indicate that Apple buyers are willing to pay extra for a slightly larger display.

The tweet also mentions that iPhone 13 sales for this quarter were around $42 billion (roughly Rs. 3,26,224 crore). That figure reportedly accounted for up to 84 percent of iPhone sales during that period. Apple maintained its momentum after a record-setting holiday season (October to December) last year despite supply shortages. During this period, the Cupertino-based company reported $71.63 billion in iPhone sales (roughly Rs. 5,56,393 crore).

On the other hand, Samsung also made it to this list with the Galaxy A12 and Galaxy A32 budget smartphones, which took 3rd and 5th places respectively. The cumulative sales of these smartphones in the first quarter of 2022 are estimated to have netted the South Korean tech giant $3.6 billion (roughly Rs. 27,963 crore).
