iQoo Neo 8 Series to get 1.5K flexible display and 120W fast charging

The iQoo Neo 8 will reportedly be launched as the company’s flagship smartphone series soon. The proposed line of smartphones is expected to replace the iQoo Neo 7 series that debuted last year in China. The upcoming series from the Chinese manufacturer is expected to include two models – the vanilla iQoo Neo 8 and the more expensive iQoo Neo 8 Pro. The upcoming flagship smartphone series is currently undergoing the latest round of tips that offer some of the key features of the upcoming lineup in terms of display, camera, performance features and design.

According to a report by a Digital Chat Station whistleblower on the Chinese microblogging site Weibo, which was published tweeted by informant Mukul Sharma, the upcoming iQoo Neo 8 series could feature a 1.5K viewing resolution display as well as support for PWM high-frequency dimming. As mentioned above, the lineup may include vanilla iQoo Neo 8 and iQoo Neo 8 Pro. meanwhile, report MySmartPrice suggests that this series may have the same display sizes as the previous iQoo Neo 7 series. This may mean that the iQoo Neo 8 series will feature a 6.78-inch AMOLED display.

Tipster expects the higher-end iQoo Neo 8 Pro to be powered by Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC. Meanwhile, the vanilla iQoo Neo 8 could be powered by the yet-to-be-announced MediaTek Dimensity 9200+ SoC, the leaker added. MediaTek only released its current-gen flagship MediaTek Dimensity 9200 SoC last November.

The Weibo post also states that the iQoo Neo 8 series supports 120W fast charging. As a reminder, its predecessor, the iQoo Neo 7 series, also offers 120W fast charging. The leaker also expects the upcoming series of smartphones to feature a 50-megapixel primary camera on the back. The series is speculated to come with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

The iQoo Neo 8 series is also said to be launched in China sometime in May 2023. Although the iQoo Neo 7 series debuted in China at the end of last year, it includes iQoo Neo 7, iQoo Neo 7 5G, iQoo Neo 7 SE and Neo 7 Racing Edition, only one smartphone reached India before iQoo Neo 7, which is updated version of iQoo Neo 7 SE available in China. Therefore, it remains to be seen if iQoo will release more versions in India this time around with the alleged iQoo Neo 8 series.

However, it is important to note that iQoo has not provided any official confirmations or indications regarding the specification, details, launch timeline and pricing for its upcoming flagship smartphone series.
