iPhone 15 Series May Have Wi-Fi 6E, Like Latest MacBook Pro, iPad Pro: Report

The iPhone 15 series will reportedly offer Wi-Fi 6E wireless connectivity. Apple’s 2023 flagship smartphones are expected to include four models. There are believed to be vanilla models of the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus, as well as the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max/iPhone 15 Ultra. It’s not yet clear if Wi-Fi 6E will be available on all iPhone 15 models or just Pro models. Apple currently offers this connectivity feature on MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models.

According to MacRumors report, Barclays analysts Blaine Curtis and Tom O’Malley suggest that the iPhone 15 series will finally feature Wi-Fi 6E technology. Apple has included Wi-Fi 6E support in only a select few of its devices, including the MacBook Pro and iPad Pro models. Wi-Fi 6E uses the 6 GHz bands, as well as the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands supported by Wi-Fi 6 technology. Extended wireless band support allows it to provide high transmission speeds, low latency, and reduced signal interference.

Reportedly, there have been rumors that the iPhone 13 and iPhone 14 lines could be launched with Wi-Fi 6E connectivity. However, these rumors were not destined to come true. Since Apple has started to offer this technology in its other products, it is likely that we will see it in the iPhone 15 lineup.

The iPhone 15 series is expected to arrive later this year in September. A recent report suggests that the Pro models will have noticeably thinner bezels than previous models. Also, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max may have curved edges. However, the report suggests that the curved edges will only apply to the protective glass, as the display itself will be flat.

The Pro models are also believed to feature solid-state volume buttons. There may also be additional Taptic Engines to simulate pressing physical buttons.
