iPhone 15 Pro may come with 5x Periscope camera: report

Although the release of the Apple iPhone 14 series is still a few months away, rumors about the iPhone 15 line have already begun to appear. Apple is testing prototypes and sample components for 5x telephoto lenses for the iPhone 15 Pro. The final decision on who will become the manufacturer is expected in May 2022.
Information about the iPhone 15 Pro came from analyst Jeff Pu. report by 9to5Mac. Apple has yet to announce information about its upcoming iPhone 14 series, which is expected later this year as the successor to the company’s iPhone 13 series.
When the components are approved, they will be included in the “2023 iPhone high-end models,” which should mean the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. The likely manufacturer of the lens will be Lante Optics, with 100 million units expected to be made for Apple alone.
Periscope lenses are not new and are already available on several Android smartphones. They allow the optical assembly of longer telephoto lenses to be placed horizontally and are thus suitable for today’s slim phones.
While Android phones have been using this technology for several years, Apple has traditionally tried to perfect a feature before implementing it.
