IPhone 13 Pro delivers over 55% better graphics performance than iPhone 12 Pro, Geekbench benchmark

The iPhone 13 Pro delivers over 55% better graphics performance compared to the iPhone 12 Pro, according to a test report published on Geekbench. Apple has unveiled its A15 Bionic chip along with a five-core GPU on the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max. It is claimed to deliver “the fastest graphics performance of any smartphone.” The company did not provide any details on how fast the GPU in the iPhone 13 Pro models compared to the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. However, an early Geekbench benchmark report suggests the new chip could provide some significant performance improvements.

As reported from MacRumors, a prototype iPhone 13 Pro, listed iPhone 14.2 with model number scored 14,216 on the Geekbench computational test using the Metal API. More than 55 percent higher score than 9,123 results got the iPhone 12 Pro. This suggests that the iPhone 13 Pro is capable of delivering better graphics performance over last year’s model.

At the time of the launch of the iPhone 13 series Apple claimed that iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max provide “the best graphics performance on an iPhone.” The quad-core GPU in the new models is also touted as 50 percent faster than leading competitors.

But unlike previously, Apple hasn’t made direct comparisons between the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro models. The company also did not provide any numbers during the presentation to detail how much faster the iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are compared to last year’s versions.

However, the first performance results that have appeared on Geekbench suggest that there could be noticeable changes in the new models compared to their predecessors. It is important to note, however, that the score available on the test site is a prototype. Consumers can see some differences in this regard when testing the iPhone 13 Pro retail units.

Apple also introduced its A15 Bionic chip on the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 mini models, but with a quad-core GPU. We have yet to see their results on graphics performance.
