iOS 14.7 with MagSafe battery support, Apple also offers watchOS 7.6 and tvOS 14.7

iOS 14.7 was released by Apple as the latest software update for all compatible iPhone models. The new version of iOS comes out almost a couple of months after the release of iOS 14.6, which was released in May. The iOS 14.7 update brings MagSafe battery support and includes a list of improvements. Along with the iOS update, Apple introduced watchOS 7.6 and tvOS 14.7 as two new software releases. The watchOS update specifically brings support for the ECG app and irregular heart rate notifications in 30 additional regions.

iOS 14.7: What’s New?

One of the biggest changes in iOS 14.7. brings is support for MagSafe Battery Pack released earlier this month. Additional software is available for iPhone 12, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max, and iPhone 12 mini. Basically, it is designed to display the MagSafe Battery Pack battery status on your iPhone’s home screen.

The iOS 14.7 update also updates the Home app with the ability to control timers on the HomePod. It also includes an updated podcast library, allowing you to choose whether to watch all shows or just the ones you follow.

Apple also introduced the Apple Card Family feature in iOS 14.7 so you can combine credit limits and share shared accounts with existing Apple Card users. The update also expands weather and Maps air quality information for Canada, France, Italy, Netherlands, South Korea and Spain.

In addition to new features, iOS 14.7 fixes some known bugs. These include one of the playlist menu options that is missing from Apple Music and the other unexpectedly stops playing Dolby Atmos and Apple Music lossless audio. There is also a fix for an issue that caused the battery service message to disappear after restarting some iPhone 11 models. The update also fixes an issue that caused braille displays to display invalid information when composing email messages.

The iOS 14.7 update may also have some security fixes that still to be detailed on the company’s security page.

Apple may have released iOS 14.7 as the latest update in the iOS 14 family as it is working to release iOS 15 in the near future. A new version of iOS was unveiled at WWDC last month with a number of FaceTime and iMessage features.

watchOS 7.6, tvOS 14.7: what’s new?

Apple has added support for the ECG app and irregular heart rate notifications in an additional 30 regions. The ECG app is especially compatible with Apple Watch Series 4 and later. You can view support regions by visiting the Feature Availability Web page on Apple’s site.

For Apple TV users, the Cupertino-based company has unveiled tvOS 14.7 with “general performance and stability improvements.”

iOS 14.7, watchOS 7.6, tvOS 14.7: How to download

You can download iOS 14.7 on an iPhone or iPod touch model that supports iOS 14. You can download the update by following the link Settings > General > Updating the software from your device.

To update watchOS 7.6, your Apple Watch must be compatible with watchOS 7 or later. You can download the update, if it’s compatible, by going to the My Watch tab in the Watch app connected to your Apple device. Alternatively, you can download the update directly from your Apple Watch.

Apple TV users can find tvOS 14.7 download on their device by going to Settings > System > Updating the software… It will also reach compatible devices if automatic updates are enabled by the user.
