How to use the shelf on OnePlus phones
Shelf is one of the most useful multitasking features available in OxygenOS, but OnePlus hasn’t quite made it easy to find.
Anyone with a OnePlus phone (including the latest OnePlus 11) can access the shelf, allowing them to view various widgets, shortcuts, and reminders for that day with a single swipe.
Shelf makes it easy to find the app you want and contains useful integrations from calendar and notes apps to local weather information and step counter. There is even a built-in Spotify widget that allows users to access their recently played tracks and play their favorite songs.

What you will need:
- Open settings
- Tap “Home Screen” and “Lock Screen”.
- Tap Swipe Down on the Home Screen
- Choose a shelf
- You can now swipe down from the middle of the home screen to access the shelf.
First, you need to make sure the shelf is enabled. You won’t need to follow steps 1 to 4 every time you want to access a shelf.
Tap “Home Screen” and “Lock Screen”.
This will take you to the home screen and lock settings.
Tap Swipe Down on the Home Screen
If this heading already says “Shelf” like we do, you can skip steps 3 and 4.
Choose a shelf
Make sure the shelf is selected and not the notification drawer. Once you’ve touched Shelf, you won’t need to go through steps 1 to 4 again.
Return to the home screen and swipe down from the middle of the screen.
Be sure to swipe down from the middle of the screen, not from the top. That’s it – now just swipe down from the middle of the home screen anytime you want to access your shelf.
Make sure you swipe from the middle of the screen and not from the top to access the shelf. If you swipe from the top of the screen, you’ll see your notifications and settings instead.
OnePlus has updated the shelf design over the years. Be sure to install the latest version of OxygenOS to get the most up-to-date features.
