How to Scan Text on iPhone

If you want to quickly copy text, the iPhone Scanner will come in very handy. Here’s how it works.

Quite often, you may need to copy physical text to get a digital copy. This can be quite time consuming and tedious, but luckily your iPhone has a solution; you can use it to copy physical text and paste it into your notes with just the camera. This guide shows you how to scan text in the Notes app.

What you will need:

  • We used an iPhone 13, but you can use any iPhone running iOS 15 or later.

  • Open the Notes app.
  • Start a new note or open an existing note
  • Click on the camera icon at the bottom of the page.
  • Select Scan Text.
  • Now you can select the text you want to copy

How to Scan Text on iPhone: Step by Step

    Open the Notes app.

    Start by opening the Notes app, which you should find on your iPhone’s home screen.

    Start a new note or open an existing note

    Once you’re inside, just start a new note or open one of the existing notes you want to add the scanned text to.

    Click on the camera icon at the bottom of the page.

    At the bottom of each note, you’ll see a camera icon. Click on it.

    Select Scan Text.

    Once you have touched the camera icon, you will be presented with an options menu. Click Scan Text.

    Now you can select the text you want to copy

    You can now use the camera to hover over the text you want to copy to paste it into your note.
