Anyone with an iPhone 8 or older can access the iOS 16 update and we encourage you to download the update. What you will need:
- iPhone (here we use one with iOS 16)
- Open settings
- Click General
- Click About
- Click on the iOS version.
- Check which version you are using
Unlock your iPhone and click on the Settings app.
Scroll down a bit and click the “General” button.
Once in General, click on the button labeled “About”. It is located at the very top of the screen.

You can revert to iOS 15 if you reboot and restore your device, though you’ll need to make sure you’ve backed up your data beforehand.
