Honor X8a Launched with 100MP Main Camera and MediaTek Helio G88 SoC: Price, Specs

The Honor X8a smartphone was launched in the UK, Malaysia and UAE on Thursday as the company’s latest available offering. The smartphone has similar specifications to the standard Honor X8 and is available in three color options. It features a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC paired with 6GB of RAM in the base variant and 8GB of RAM in the more expensive variant. Both options come with 128GB of non-expandable internal storage. The phone features a 6.7-inch Full HD+ LCD display with a refresh rate of up to 90Hz.

Honor X8a price, availability

The price of the new Honor X8a has been set at €220 (roughly Rs. 19,500) for the base 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant in the UK. Currently only the base variant is available for pre-order in the UK. Meanwhile, Malaysian customers currently only have the option to pre-order the 8GB RAM and 128GB storage variant, priced at RM999 (roughly Rs. 19,200). Pre-orders in the UAE are expected to open soon.

Users who pre-order the Honor X8a by February 14 will also receive the Honor Band 6 for free with purchase. It is expected that the official execution of the order will begin on February 15. Users in Malaysia can buy the Honor X8a from a company official. Web site in three color options – Midnight Black, Titanium Silver and Cyan Lake.

It is expected that soon the smartphone will be available in other global markets.

Honor X8a Specifications

Honor’s latest entry-level device, the Honor X8a, is equipped with a MediaTek Helio G88 SoC. As previously mentioned, the smartphone comes in two variants, one with 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and the other with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage. The smartphone does not offer expandable storage.

In terms of optics, the Honor X8a features a triple rear camera setup, led by a 100MP sensor with f/1.9 aperture and autofocus. The setup also includes a 5MP ultra wide-angle lens and a 2MP macro lens. On the selfie front, the smartphone is equipped with a 16-megapixel camera that is housed inside a punch-hole cutout.

The Honor X8a runs Magic UI 6.1 based on Android-12 and packs a 4500mAh battery with support for 22.5W fast charging.
