Honor X40 announced with curved OLED display; Leaked design renders, display specs

The Honor X40 series will go on sale in China on September 15th. Ahead of the launch, Honor has unveiled the front panel design of the Honor X40. The phone features a curved OLED display with a punch-hole camera in the center. Huawei-owned smartphone brand has kept the rest of the specs and design details of the upcoming Honor X40 series under wraps. However, a reliable tipster has shared alleged renders of the Honor X40 and also revealed some of its display specs ahead of the launch.

Honor shared teaser Honor X40 on Weibo. The phone is confirmed to have a curved OLED panel. The image shows a phone with a cutout in the center for a selfie camera. Also, it looks like the phone might have an IR blaster next to the top microphone.

Meanwhile, a Digital Chat Station informant leaked complete design of Honor X40. Full-size renders showcase a large camera ring on the back with dual image sensors and an LED flash. The specifications of this setup are not yet known. The leaked renders also show a volume rocker and a power button on the right side.

Tipster expects The Honor X40 series will feature a 6.8-inch flexible curved OLED display. In addition, the display of this smartphone tips to provide high-frequency dimming, maximum brightness of 800 nits, and 100 percent DCI-P3 color gamut.

Honor has announced that the Honor X40 series will be launched in China on September 15th. The smartphones in this line are supposed to offer 5G connectivity. It is not yet clear how many phones will debut under the new Honor X40 series. The company has remained silent on the pricing and specifications of these phones.
