Honor has officially unveiled its first foldable flagship, and here you can watch the announcement online.
Honor’s latest smartphone has a design similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3, with an internal and external display that can be accessed when the phone is folded.
The internal display is an OLED screen with a refresh rate of up to 90 Hz, a resolution of 2272 x 1984 and a pixel density of 381. The external display is also OLED, but has a higher refresh rate of up to 120 Hz, as well as an impressive display. 2560 x 1080 resolution with 431 PPI.
Compared to the Galaxy Z Fold 3, the Magic V’s screens are larger and have a larger aspect ratio: 10: 9 on the inside and 21: 9 on the outside. Using the internal screen looks like two 21: 9 screens side by side, Honor says, and the company says the increased size makes the device more comfortable to use when not deployed.
When unfolded, the device is 141.1 mm wide and 6.7 mm deep, and when folded, it is 72.7 mm wide and 14.3 mm deep.
The Magic V will be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor with Adreno 730 GPU. In terms of RAM, it has 12GB, with storage options of 256GB or 512GB.
Looking at the camera setup, there are a trio of 50MP sensors on the back. These include a main sensor with an f / .19 aperture, an ultra-wide-angle camera with f / 2.2 and an “spread-spectrum camera” with f / 2.0, which Honor has not yet revealed.
It can record video in 4K format and take photos with a resolution of 8192 × 6144, with digital zoom up to 10x. The front camera is 42 MP with an aperture of f / 2.4, the video resolution reaches 3840 × 2160, and the photo – 7552 × 5664, respectively.
It has a 4,750mAh battery that can be charged with a 66W charger, which should provide 100% battery life in just 40 minutes, Honor says. The operating system for the smartphone is Magic UI 6.0, based on Android 12, the same OS that the Z Fold 3 can now upgrade to.
