Honor 80 Global release date, price and specifications

Honor has removed the covers from its latest series of mid-range devices: the Honor 80 line.
Here’s everything we know so far about the three phones that are already out in China but could still make it to the rest of the world.
When will the Honor 80 series be released worldwide?
On November 22, Honor announced three Honor 80 phones in China, as well as a Magic Vs foldable phone: Honor 80, 80 Pro, and 80 SE.
Magic Vs is confirmed to launch globally, including in Europe, but Honor has yet to make such promises for the 80 series. From the Honor 70 line, only the standard model has made it to the UK and Europe, so it’s possible we’ll see a similar limited edition, most likely sometime in early 2023.
How much is Honor 80?
So far we only have prices for three phones in China that we have taken the liberty of converting to around other currencies:
- Honor 80: Starting at 2,699 yen (about $375 / £310 / €360 / £30,500)
- Honor 80 Pro: Starting at 3,499 yen (about $485 / £400 / €465 / £39,500)
- Honor 80 SE: Starting at 2,399 yen (about $330 / £275 / €320 / £27,000)
By comparison, when the Honor 70 launched in the UK and Europe it cost £479 / €549, so you should expect any subsequent upgrade to cost at least the same when it launches internationally.
What are the specifications of Honor 80?
Since there are three phones in the series, let’s take them in order, starting with the standard model.
Honor 80
The Honor 80 is naturally the default model in the series and will most likely be released globally.
Honour
It boasts a 6.67-inch 120Hz OLED display and is powered by the new Snapdragon 782G mid-range chipset, which can be paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Power is provided by a large 4800mAh battery with 66W wired charging.
On the back, you’ll find a 160-megapixel ultra-high-resolution main camera with a 1/1.56-inch sensor and a fairly fast f/1.8 aperture, although there’s no optical stabilization. It is joined by an 8MP ultra-wide-angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 32MP selfie camera on the front.
In terms of design, it’s available in a variety of colors – black, green, blue and pink – and is impressively thin and light, measuring 7.7mm thick and weighing 180g respectively.
It comes running MagicOS 7 on top of Android 12.

Honor 80 Pro
The 80 Pro hasn’t changed too much, but has a few key updates. Perhaps the biggest one is the move to the much more powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, which makes it a real flagship in terms of pure performance.

Honour
It’s slightly larger, with a 6.78-inch display, which also makes it a bit thicker and heavier. Even though the battery is actually the same capacity, the design is otherwise similar, except for the infinity stroke on the camera module.
The other big jump in specs is the upgrade to a 50MP ultra-wide camera on the back, while the selfie camera is replaced with a dual system with a 50MP main selfie camera and a 2MP depth sensor for improved portrait shots.

Honor 80 SE
Finally, we have the more budget-friendly Honor SE – probably the least likely to make it to the West.

Honour
It doesn’t save as much as you might expect, still packing a curved 6.67-inch OLED display like the regular 80 with the same selfie camera.
It falls short of the MediaTek Dimensity 900 chipset, and although the battery is slightly smaller (4600 mAh), the charging speed remains the same.
The rear camera is downgraded to a 64MP main lens, 5MP ultra-wide and 2MP depth sensor.

Obviously, we won’t have to wait long to test some of the phones ourselves, as well as find out which models go on sale in various territories around the world. We’ll update this article when those details are announced, so until then, take a look at our best smartphone chart to see the competition the 80 series will have to beat.
