Google will reportedly detail changes to Pixel feature updates with a tour of new features

Google is bringing quarterly updates to Pixel owners in the form of a Feature Drop. These updates bring new features and provide an improved user experience without waiting for a new version of Android to be released. The report states that future Pixel feature packs with the latest update in March 2022 will not only bring new features, but also notify users of the changes. Google’s ongoing efforts to improve the user experience will keep users up to date with all the new changes being made to Pixel Feature Drops every three months.

The news was first published on Twitter Mishaal Rahman Esperdevawho also shared screenshots to state how Google plans to warn its users going forward. The user tour of Google will include an overview of all the latest features added to the Google Android app suite.

While the service has not yet launched globally, the screenshots shared by Rahman are a quick overview of how Google plans to ensure new updates are released each time a Pixel Feature Drop is released. Users will be able to view updates the first time they access the Play Store shortly after the update.

However, many Twitter users commented on the tweet, mentioning that the feature has been around for quite some time. By sharing a screenshot of such claims, User claimed to have first received such an update on January 30 of this year, shortly after emoji hub introduced the new icons for dog lovers and givers. While some users may have noticed these cards already, there has been no clarification as to when the feature will be rolled out to all existing users. It is expected to be introduced along with the next major update of Play Services.

Interestingly, Google also provides an option to skip these cards if the user doesn’t want to read about the latest features. In its March release of the Pixel Feature Drop, Google updated Snapchat night vision, live call captions, live translation, and made improvements to the recording app, widgets, custom text stickers, and added new wallpapers.
