The Google Pixel 6 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max compare against each other in a new test video that measures how powerful the new premium devices are. The test shows everyday apps open faster on Google’s latest phone, while Apple wins when it comes to video editing and gaming apps. Overall, the video shows the iPhone 13 Pro Max vs Pixel 6 Pro in terms of performance, a close challenge. But it looks like the iPhone 13 Pro Max is stepping down from the title of faster device. Google recently unveiled the Pixel 6 Pro with a proprietary Tensor SoC, which will also go on sale in the US from October 28th.
The PhoneBuff technology channel has released a four-minute YouTube video of the Google Pixel 6 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max speed test in multiple rounds. The test shows the opening of about 12 applications and 4 games with robotic arms. The video highlights that the Google Pixel 6 Pro outperforms the iPhone 13 Pro Max in apps like Facebook, Starbucks, Microsoft Word, and Camera. While the Pixel 6 Pro has taken the lead with the power of a custom-designed Google Tensor SoC from the start, the iPhone is back, surpassing the Pixel 6 Pro in opening video editing apps and games. Ultimately, the new iPhone comes out ahead on the first lap, while the Pixel 6 Pro finishes four seconds slower.
In the RAM management test, the two devices go hand in hand, but ultimately the iPhone wins by 6 seconds. However, the test confirms that the new Tensor SoC can be considered a competitor to Apple’s powerful A15 Bionic.
As a reminder, the iPhone 13 Pro Max was released in September this year with a large 6.7-inch OLED Super Retina XDR display with a resolution of 1284×2,778 pixels and the company’s ProMotion technology. It has a 12MP telephoto lens, wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle cameras on the back. The phone supports Face ID and supports 5G.
The Pixel 6 Pro launched in October this year in limited markets. The smartphone is equipped with a 6.7-inch QHD + (1440×3.120 pixels) LTPO OLED display that supports variable refresh rates ranging from 10Hz to 120Hz. The Tensor SoC on the phone is paired with 12GB of LPDDR5 RAM. The Pixel 6 Pro has a triple rear camera with a 48MP telephoto lens. The Pixel 6 Pro comes with 128GB, 256GB and 512GB UFS 3.1 internal storage options and packs a 5003mAh battery that supports 30W wired fast charging and 23W fast wireless charging.
