Google Pixel 5a 5G pricing could have been accidentally missed by Google on its Google Fi app. Google unveiled the Pixel 5 last September as its only flagship offering for 2020, but it came with the more economical Pixel 4a 5G, both of which are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765G SoC. The Pixel 5a 5G is expected to be around for quite some time now and there have been several leaks around it as well. Now the price of the phone seems to be on offer and it is comparable to the Pixel 4a 5G.
Google Fi is a Mobile Virtual Network Operator (MVNO) that offers connectivity over cellular networks and Wi-Fi. It comes with an app that several Reddit users have noted (one,2), mentioned that the Pixel 5a 5G is listed in the store section. The phone’s name was part of a banner ad that said the Pixel 5a 5G could be purchased for $ 15 (roughly Rs 1,100) a month. This price includes the cost of the phone, device protection, and phone updates after two years.
The aforementioned banner has been removed and the link that came with it now redirects to the Google Fi “Choose your plan” page.
9to5Google It worked Pixel 5a 5G pricing is rumored to be $ 15 / month for 24 months and subtract the cost of protecting the device from $ 6 (roughly Rs 450) / month for 24 months. This suggests the Pixel 5a 5G will be priced at $ 449 (roughly Rs 33,400) at launch.
By comparison, the Google Pixel 5 launched at $ 699 (roughly Rs 51,400), while the Pixel 4a 5G was priced at $ 499 (roughly Rs 37,000). The Pixel 5a 5G is rumored to appear cheaper than the starting price of the Pixel 4a 5G, but that’s not surprising considering the Pixel 6 series will have a more flagship price tag. This isn’t the first time the price of the Google Pixel 5a 5G has gone up, as it was reported earlier this month that the phone will be priced at $ 450 (roughly Rs 33,400).
More recently, images of the Pixel 5a 5G components have surfaced online, showing a rubberized finish, a 3.5mm audio jack and a 4,680mAh battery. The phone is expected to be unveiled on August 26, but Google hasn’t shared any information about the phone other than its availability in the US and Japan.
