The best deals on the phone right now

7. Apple iPhone 12 (100 GB data)

Currently: £ 49.99 upfront, £ 33.99 / month (£ 865.75 total cost of ownership)

After months of almost miraculous iPhone deals, iD has backed off a bit: This iPhone 12 deal costs about the same as the company offered in October, with only 100GB instead of unlimited data. Keep in mind that for most of us, 100 GB is the same as unlimited.

10. Oppo Find X2 Pro (12GB RAM, 512GB)

Currently: £ 473 (£ 526 Off)

Oppo’s excellent Find X2 Pro was one of the best phones of 2020 and is now enjoying a huge over £ 500 off on Amazon.

Which phone should I buy?

Which phone is better? The answer lies in how you use your phone, in your budget, and in what you want from your phone. Tech Advisor has a number of buying guides to help you decide how best to move on. We’ve outlined some of the key points and what to expect from each buying guide below.

Find the best phone for you

If you’re looking for deals on the best smartphone on the market, there are probably a few things you should consider. First, should you buy an iPhone or Android? Should you buy an unlocked one or a monthly payment? And also how to choose the right SIM card?

Of course, the best phones on the market often come with a higher price tag. Apple’s Samsung Galaxy S and iPhones may seem like the perfect choices, but if you’re on a tight budget, there are plenty of other powerful options at sub-premium prices (see The Best Chinese Phones Guide for an example).

Some of the most impressive phones on the market right now, such as the OnePlus 9 Pro, Oppo Find X3 Pro, and Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, are made by Chinese brands.

Chinese phones can be powerful, often dual-SIM, and usually competitively priced. On the other hand, some may be difficult to return if there is any problem and you may need to pay import duty depending on where you get them from.

However, not all of them are available worldwide; there are more of them in Europe than in North America.

If the Chinese manufacturer in question doesn’t yet have an official presence in your local market, chances are you’re buying its phones from gray market retailers who may need careful navigation.

Buy a used iPhone

Buying a used or refurbished phone is another way to gain a lot, often on premium phones like the iPhone. Our colleagues at Macworld have put together their own guide on the best way to buy a used iPhone.

Best Dual SIM Phones

Our quick roundup of the best dual SIM phones covers what to look out for before you decide to buy one; for example what SIM sizes are supported and whether both SIMs are 4G and / or 5G compatible.

We also explain the difference between dual standby and dual active SIM support. This affects the ability to actively receive calls from both SIM cards at the same time.

Best Basic Phones

If you’re looking for a phone that will allow you to do basic operations – making calls, texting, and browsing at a fraction of the cost – you can find several phones for under £ 50 with cheap monthly rates. Our guide to the best basic phones covers everything you can expect in terms of specs, storage, sound quality, and camera from a smartphone or regular phone.

Best baby phones

If you’re looking for a phone for your child, there are a few other things to consider (like water resistance). Our guide details what specs to look for (for example, does it support regular games and YouTube?), As well as the ideal amount of storage that the phone should support for your little one to be happy.

What are the suggestions by phone?

Retailers often have discounts on tons of cellphones, so keep an eye out for that, not to mention Amazon sells phones without a SIM card from time to time at very attractive prices.

Samsung Discounts

Samsung currently offers an exchange program where you can get hundreds of the company’s newest and best smartphones (depending on the value of the device you are trading). Get Samsung Trade Offers Here

iPhone discounts

While Apple itself doesn’t offer discounts as often as Samsung does, it does offer own trade-in program… If you have an older iPhone, you can save on a new iPhone, and Apple currently offers hundreds of discounts depending on your phone.

Android Discounts

Many retailers are also making significant savings on budget to mid-range phones from Nokia, Motorola, OnePlus and others.

If you want to buy the phone directly and not by contract, Amazon offers some of the best deals, but make sure you check the specs carefully – third-party sellers sometimes use Amazon to move international stock, which may differ slightly from what you find in stores.

If you find yourself missing Amazon Lightning dealsthat only run a few hours and offer a limited range, we recommend subscribing to Amazon 30-day free trial Prime, which will give you access to trades 30 minutes earlier than everyone else. Plus, you get free next day shipping with a Prime trial, plus access to Prime Instant Video and more. Subscribe to Prime currently.
