Asus ROG Phone 7 with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 to launch in Q3 2023

The Asus ROG Phone 7 series will reportedly launch in the third quarter of 2023. Asus’ alleged gaming smartphone series is expected to succeed the Asus ROG Phone 6 series, which was launched in India last July. The upcoming series is expected to include three smartphones that can be equipped with Qualcomm’s latest SoC, running Android 13 out of the box. All smartphones in the series are also expected to feature AMOLED displays with a refresh rate of at least 165Hz.
According to report TheTechOutlook, published in collaboration with tipster Paras Guglani (@passionategeekz), a Taiwanese electronics manufacturer from Taipei is working on a new series of gaming smartphones Asus ROG Phone 7.
The report suggests that the Asus ROG Phone 7 series could include the vanilla Asus ROG Phone 7, the more expensive Asus ROG Phone 7D, and the top-of-the-line Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate.
According to the leaker, Asus’ upcoming series of flagship gaming smartphones will feature the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC running Android-13 out of the box. The smartphones in this series are speculated to feature AMOLED displays with a refresh rate of up to 165Hz. Its predecessors, Asus ROG Phone 6 and Asus ROG Phone 6 Pro, are equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC.
The alleged Asus ROG Phone 7 series is expected to pack a 6,000mAh battery with support for 65W fast charging, just like its predecessors. The vanilla Asus ROG Phone 7 is expected to have 16GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage, while the Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate could have a 512GB internal storage option. Tipster suggests that the Asus ROG Phone 7 and Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate models will debut in the global market under model numbers AI205_A and AI2205_E, respectively.
Meanwhile, in the Chinese market, Asus ROG Phone 7, Asus ROG Phone 7D, and Asus ROG Phone 7 Ultimate are reportedly released with model numbers AI2205_B, AI2205_D, and AI2205_F, respectively. It is assumed that the vanilla ASUS ROG Phone 7 will appear in the Indian market with the model number AI2205_C.
The alleged series of flagship gaming smartphones from Asus could appear in the third quarter of 2023, that is, in July, August or September. However, it is important to note that Asus has not provided any official confirmation or indication of the arrival of the alleged Asus ROG Phone 7 series smartphones.
