Apple releases iOS 16.1.2 update; Improved crash detection on iPhone 14 series.

Apple has released the iOS 16.1.2 update for compatible iPhone models. The update will improve crash detection for iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro users. The update also contains several bug fixes and security improvements. Apple recently released the iOS 16.1.1 update to users. The Cupertino giant also provided iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, and macOS Ventura 13.1 betas to testers. The company is reportedly planning to release these software updates in mid-December.

The iOS 16.1.2 update is now available for all compatible iPhones. The update will provide security updates as well as improve iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Pro compatibility with wireless carriers. In addition, the latest update will improve crash detection capabilities on iPhone 14 series. The crash detection feature allows iPhone 14 series to automatically call emergency services when a crash is detected. The Cupertino company could tweak the system to make the crash detection algorithm more accurate.

As mentioned earlier, iOS 16.2, iPadOS 16.2, and macOS Ventura 13.1 beta software was released to beta testers a couple of weeks ago. iOS 16.2 has been reported to improve the Always On Display feature on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. The tech giant said it plans to release the new iOS 16.2 update in mid-December.

Apple released the iOS 16.1 update to users along with iPadOS 16.1, macOS Ventura, tvOS 16.1, and watchOS 9.1 in October. The Cupertino-based company said that this version includes a patch to fix a previously discovered zero-day vulnerability in the operating system, which, according to the company, could be actively exploited.

Apple also recently released a beta update to enable 5G on Apple devices in India. This software update will bring 5G connectivity to compatible iPhone models as and when service providers Jio, Airtel and Vodafone Idea (Vi) provide 5G network access, the sources said. To get the beta software, users need to sign up for the beta program on the Apple website, install a profile, and then download the software to their iPhone.
