Amazon Music finally launches on Sky Q, Glass and Stream

There are some great apps available on the Sky platform, including Netflix and Disney+, but the music part has always been missing. Fortunately, things have changed with the launch of Amazon Music on Sky platforms.
Launching today, Sky Q, Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers can use the Amazon Music app to stream over 100 million songs. This includes ad-free shuffle listening or full access playlists for any existing Amazon Prime members.
However, an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription is required to unlock the full potential of the app with unlimited access to those millions of tracks. Of course, it’s ad-free and includes the latest releases.
Amazon Music Unlimited costs $9.99 / £9.99 / €9.99 per month and you can use 30 day free trial. However, on February 21, prices will increase by $1/£1/€1.
However, Sky customers who aren’t even subscribed to Prime can stream “a selection of the best playlists” for free if you don’t mind listening to weird ads.
The move comes just over two years after Sky launched Amazon Prime Video on Sky Q and joined the likes of Spotify, BBC Sounds and Roxi in the music streaming services category.

“At Sky, we are focused on bringing people the best entertainment experience possible, and the launch of Amazon Music on Sky Glass, Sky Stream and Sky Q really highlights that. Fans can enjoy a huge selection of great music and playlists on their TV, as well as the best selection of shows, movies and fitness content,” said Fraser Stirling, Global Product Director at Sky.
The Amazon Music app can be found in the app drawer or downloaded using voice commands such as “Hello Sky, open Amazon Music” or “Amazon Music” depending on which Sky device you have.
