All the details about the new flagship smartphone

Google has just unveiled its latest top-tier smartphone, the Google Pixel 7 Pro. Here’s everything you need to know about it, from price to key features.

The Pixel 7 Pro is Google’s latest flagship phone and has received a number of changes, as well as several spec upgrades, from its predecessor, the excellent Pixel 6 Pro. This article contains the most important hardware and software changes, as well as purchase information.

Price and availability

The Pixel 7 Pro has a starting price of £849, which is significantly higher than the standard Pixel 7 (£599). Smartphones are already available for pre-order and will go on sale on October 13.

Colors

The Pixel 7 Pro is available in three different color options:

  • Obsidian (black body, dark gray camera visor)
  • Snow (white body, light gray camera visor)
  • Hazel (grey-green body, gold camera visor)

They have the same dimensions of 162.9×7.6×8.9mm and weight 212g.

Camera

The Pixel 7 Pro’s camera array is topped by a 5-megapixel primary wide-angle sensor with f/1.85 aperture and an 82-degree field of view. This is complemented by two additional lenses; the standard Pixel 7 also has a 12-megapixel f/2.2 ultra-wide-angle lens with a 125.8-degree field of view (along with lens correction); and finally a 48-megapixel telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom, f/3.5 aperture and 20.6-degree field of view. It can also perform “Super Res Zoom”, a digital effect that can zoom in up to 30 times. On the front of the phone, you’ll find a 10.8-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.2 aperture and a 92.8-degree ultra-wide field of view.

Of course, when it comes to the photographic experience on a Google Pixel phone, the hardware is only one side of the coin, as the camera system is also supported by a wide range of software options. Along with the aforementioned Super Res Zoom, you’ll also have access to Magic Eraser (to remove unwanted objects from the frame), Photo Unlbur, Motion Mode, Night Side, Real Tone, Portrait Mode, and Macro Focus, among many others. .

Characteristics and features

One of the most important features of the Google Pixel 6 series was that it used Google’s own silicon for the first time. This trick is repeated here: The Pixel 7 Pro is powered by the all-new Google Tensor G2 chipset, along with a Titan M2 security co-processor. This will be supported by 12GB of RAM and a choice of 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB storage.

In addition to this security chip, the Pixel 7 Pro will also have a built-in Google One-powered VPN, Google-designed end-to-end security, and a minimum of five years of OTA security updates.

The 6.7-inch OLED display offers Quad HD+ (1440x3120p) resolution and up to 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. What’s more, it has a maximum brightness of 1500 nits and supports over 16 million colors along with HDR. It’s also durable thanks to Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection.
