From today until the end of the year, Tado will be selling its newly launched Smart Thermostat Black Edition for just £99.99, compared to a suggested retail price of £199.99.

With energy prices forecast to at least double since the start of the year, smart thermostats are a digital way to control your home’s energy use.

Compatible with almost all modern boilers, the smart thermostat can be controlled manually or through a mobile app that now has a dark mode to match the latest Black Edition wireless thermostat.

Using the app, you can set the optimum temperature for each room when used in conjunction with smart radiator valves.

The app can detect when certain users leave the house and can control heating so that empty houses don’t waste energy.

Tado claims its smart thermostats can save users an average of 22% on heating costs per year. The company estimates that customers are cutting their average heating bill from £1,050.55 for a typical home to £819.43 by using a smart thermostat. Bigger savings are expected when UK energy price ceilings are raised on October 1st.

Tado believes that its smart thermostats will pay for themselves in less than six months of use and start to pay for themselves in less than three months in the face of October energy price increases.

The new Black Edition was the client’s wish to match the chosen interior design. Aside from aesthetics, an app’s dark mode can help save your phone’s battery and be useful in low-light situations. Dark Mode will begin rolling out to existing Tado users through an app update in October, and can be activated from device settings on iOS and Android.

The thermostat is also available in white, but that color model is not part of this half price deal.
