TriHealth to Build $ 30M Outpatient Campus in Underserved Area

The nonprofit health care system announced that TriHealth plans to build a large medical campus near its Cincinnati headquarters as a “one-stop service center.”

The Finneytown, Ohio health complex will be two-story, 55,000 square feet and is expected to be completed in mid-2023, the health system said Friday. The outpatient campus is currently recruiting 18–20 primary health care providers.

“Healthcare is increasingly moving from emergency care in hospitals to outpatient care and, in many ways, even at home,” said Mark Clement, president and CEO of TriHealth, a nonprofit.

As a result, TriHealth has begun investing in a centralized network, value-based care models and developed core practices that work to treat chronic patient conditions and address growing risk factors, Clement said.

The center will become TriHealth’s 13th major outpatient campus in Greater Cincinnati, and will consolidate three primary health care units in the surrounding areas.

Patients will be able to access specialized services in cardiology, general surgery, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, orthopedics, obstetrics and other areas, as well as outpatient services, including laboratories, X-rays, computed tomography and cardiac examinations. Emergency medical services will also be provided seven days a week. According to Clement, the new campus will cost more than $ 30 million to build.

According to Clement, about 75% of the company’s revenues come from outpatient services, and almost all services to patients are provided on an outpatient or outpatient basis.

Noticing a shortage of doctors, specialists and primary health care services available to Finneytown residents, Clement said, TriHealth began work about five years ago to find a suitable location and property that would provide the widest access to health care.

TriHealth is the second largest healthcare employer in the Cincinnati region. The company employs 14,000 people, operates more than 140 health care centers and six hospitals, and treats 600,000 primary care patients, about half of which are covered by a cost-based payment system.
