Memorial Sloan Kettering appoints Remy Evard Chief Digital Officer

Remy Evard, formerly chief technology officer at a life sciences venture capital firm, has joined Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center as chief digital officer and head of technology, the New York-based nonprofit announced Thursday.

Evard succeeds Klaus Jensen, who left Memorial Sloan Kettering in May to take over as Chief Innovation Officer at telemedicine giant Teladoc Health.

Jensen was Memorial Sloan Kettering’s first Chief Digital Officer, appointed to the position in 2019.

Edward, as the second chief executive serving as chief digital officer and chief technology officer, will lead the development of Memorial Sloan Kettering’s digital strategy for research, patient care and medical education. news release, including projects focused on data and analytics.

Previously, Evard also served as Global Chief Information Officer for Novartis’s innovation arm, Novartis Institutes of BioMedical Research, and held various technology leadership roles at Argonne National Laboratory, including Chief Information Officer for Science and Technology Research Center. .

Like many healthcare providers, Memorial Sloan Kettering has faced challenges during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Cancer Center lost approximately $417 million in calendar year 2020 on operating revenue of $5.4 billion, representing an operating loss margin of 7.7%.
