Lewis Hamilton said he was reminded of his own death after a severe accident with Max Verstappen during the Italian Grand Prix.
The reigning world champion’s car was crushed by Verstappen after they met during the race, and if not for the safety device known as the halo, Hamilton would have been crushed.
Hamilton said he was reminded of how fragile life was after the accident.

“I’ve been racing for a long time and we take risks all the time, and I think it’s only when you experience something like this that you get the real shock of how you look at life and how fragile we are,” he said as reported by the Guardian…
Verstappen received a three-seater penalty for the steward grid, which will be served at the Russian Grand Prix in two weeks. Hamilton praised the decision.
“If that’s the result, then I think I’m ultimately proud of the stewards.
“It definitely sets a precedent and I think it is important for us to move forward for the safety of drivers as there are strict rules.”
Verstappen did not check Hamilton after the accident

Verstappen was also criticized for not going to test Hamilton after the accident when three-time world champion Jackie Stewart named the 23-year-old immature guy.
“Verstappen will mature longer than expected.”
“Not even going to visit Hamilton after a serious accident when you just ran over this guy is something I really don’t understand.
“Especially when he is still in his car and stayed there for a long time before leaving,” Stewart told the Daily Mail.
