Jessie J revealed to fans that a sore throat disease with her vocal cords had affected her ability to sing.

The “Domino” singer on Friday shared a new video to her Instagram account showing her quietly singing her new song, “I Want Love”. The post was accompanied by a long caption in which Jessie was nominated with her 9.7 million followers.

“Just listen to me sing and I feel so vulnerable while singing has bought me to tears,” wrote Jessie, 33. “I’ve never until this day (since his recording) been able to sing it because of the pain I’m experiencing.”

Jessie continued that it was hard not to sing because “it’s literally my life line and my happiness.”

“Being quiet isn’t something that makes me feel good. Or it makes me feel like myself. Lord knows I’m strong af,” Jessie wrote. “It was at this point that I knew I needed to be honest with myself and honest with you all about where I am and explain what is happening …”.

People and Today reported that Jessie shared more details with posts now expiring on Instagram Stories. She wrote that she didn’t plan to share her health struggles with fans and thought “it will be resolved by now. But it’s not.”

“In February, I started to feel a burning sensation in my throat all the time. I ignored it for a while as I assumed it was fatigue from the studio,” Jessie wrote. “When I went to see a doctor I was told that I had a major acid reflux and nodules because I continued to sing with the acid reflux that was probably caused by the steroids I had taken for my ears at the end of last year. . “

Jessie, who said this has been going on for four to five months, said the acid reflux was causing blisters in her throat and that the antacids were not helping.

“I had 8 rooms under my nose to look for from 6 different doctors. I ate the same 6 foods for 3 months,” Jessie wrote. “I’m still in pain every day. With rest and little talking / singing the nodules are loose.”

“But all the doctors told me if I could sing (especially these songs) the nodules would come back right away,” she wrote.
