Jefferson Health and Bayada Form Home Health Joint Venture

Jefferson Health and Bayada Home Health Care signed a home health joint venture agreement on Tuesday.

The new venture, Jefferson Health at Home, will offer home and virtual care systems to patients from Philadelphia, New Jersey and Pennsylvania, according to a press release. The deal is expected to close in the spring of 2022.

“The pandemic has increased the demand for hospital services provided at home,” Dr. Bruce Meyer, president of Jefferson Health, said in a press release. “Now that Bayada and Jefferson have teamed up, we can leverage their best practices for emergency care across a wider geographic region while lowering the overall cost of care without compromising access or quality.”

The joint venture will be led by executives from Jefferson Health and Bayada Home Health Care.

David Bayada, CEO of Bayada Home Health Care, called the partnership “a revolutionary step.”

“We will use this platform to launch bold and innovative digital health technologies at home, where people want to be most,” Bayada said in a press release.

In addition, the joint venture will create an academic alliance that will offer new educational institutions for Jefferson Health students, namely those attending a nursing college, according to a press release.

The partnership announcement came just months after Bayada Home Health Care partnered with the VCU health care system in Virginia to offer end-of-life care and services as more health systems seek to expand into the growing home health space.
