Actor Elliot Page showed his chest and surgery scars on Monday for the first time
“Trans bb’s first bathroom bags #transjoy #transisbeautiful” wrote in the caption of the picture.
Page opened earlier about get superior surgery in her first interview since going trans in Oprah Winfrey in April.
“This is incredibly new. I feel like I haven’t had to be myself since I was 10 years old,” Page told Winfrey how she felt after getting the procedure.
Superior surgery is a common procedure used to treat gender dysphoria in and transmasculine people. The procedure, also known as a double mastectomy, masculinizes the breast by completely removing the breast tissue and circumventing it.
The most common form of upper surgery is called double incision and, as the name suggests, it leaves two horizontal scars under the breasts as in Page’s photo.
