In celebration of his latest album, “Certified Lover Boy,” Drake made a guest DJ on Saturday’s SiriusXM Sound 42 show. While there, the rapper “Hotline Bling” leaked “Life of the Party” amid his feud with West.
Rolling stone revealed that “Life of the Party” was first performed at the “Donda” private party in Las Vegas, and then was cut from West’s official album. The unreleased track was posted on Twitter, where “André 3000” and “Life of the Party” were aired.
André 3000’s lyrics were a tribute to his late mother and fit the theme of the album. The Life of the Party also included West insulting Drake.
In a statement for DiversityAndre 3000 called the situation “unfortunate” and explained why the song was removed from “Donda”.
“A few weeks ago, Kanye talked about my involvement on the Donda album. I was inspired by his idea to make a musical tribute to his mom. own mother who passed away in 2013, ”Andre told 3000 Variety.
“We both share this loss. I thought it was a great choice to make a clean album, but unfortunately I didn’t know that this was the plan before I wrote and recorded my verse, ”said Andre 3000.“ It was clear to me that the edited “clean The verse format will not work unless the raw, original format is also available. So, unfortunately, I had to be excluded from the release of the original album. ”
Andre 3000 went on to say that the version of the song he originally wrote his lyrics for did not contain Drake’s dissonance.
“There was no diss verse in the track I received and wrote, and we were hoping to make a more focused proposal for the Donda album, but I think everything is going the way it should,” he told Variety.
“It’s a shame it was released this way and the two artists I love go back and forth. I also wanted to participate in the “Certified Lover Boy”. I just want to work with people who inspire me. Hopefully I can work with Kendrick on his album. I would love to work with Lil ‘Baby, Tyler and Jay-Z. I respect them all. “
