Xbox Series X and Series S may get improved controls in the future, said Xbox CEO Phil Spencer. Spencer was part of a recent podcast where he was asked about the future of hardware and, without divulging too much, made it clear that the Xbox team can take inspiration from the PlayStation 5’s DualSense controller. The Xbox Series X and Series S controllers are roughly the same as previous-generation Xbox One controllers, with a few minor improvements.

“We’re definitely thinking of different types of devices that can bring more games to more places. There’s probably some work we’re going to do on the controller. I think Sony has done a great job with its controller and let’s look at a little bit of that … are there any things we need to do? ”Spencer said.
Yet he went on to say “probably not in the most personalized place yet.” Spencer also talked about VR and said that, as of now, Xbox is not planning anything around VR or AR. He added, “As far as VR is concerned specifically, the best experience I’ve seen is Quest 2 and I just think it’s not legit … the ease of use is untethered in its ability just not, for me, ne requires you to be connected to an Xbox anyway. “
