Destructive racing sim Wreckfest is coming to Nintendo Switch on June 21st, publisher THQ Nordic has announced. The game will cost $39.99 / £34.99.
Originally released on PC in 2018 and then made its way to consoles in 2019, Wreckfest is considered the spiritual successor to the FlatOut series and features a range of downright ridiculous vehicles including school buses, harvesters, lawn mowers and more.
The Nintendo Switch version will feature multiplayer for up to 16 players, as well as expansive single-player tournaments with 30fps sustained gameplay. It will come bundled with content for two seasons, with the first season including 20 “crazy and iconic” cars, 20 roof decorations, and a car customization kit. Season 2 offers 12 more cars.
Here’s a rundown of what to expect from THQ Nordic:
– Stunning Cars – Old, battered, patched cars that just ooze style! From old American weightlifters to nimble Europeans and jovial Asians, you won’t find anything like it in other games.
– Meaningful customization – change not only the appearance of your cars, but also improve their body armor.
– Receive free updates that add new tracks and tournament challenges with unique rewards (please note: tournaments will be a free update available after launch)
– Multiplayer game. Smash your online friends and take the racing to the limit as you aim for destruction dominance!
Wreckfest is sure to bring back nostalgic memories of FlatOut on the Wii – be sure to let us know if you’re considering picking this game in the comments.
