What are you playing this weekend? (November 6)

Another week in an unforgiving march towards the 2021 holiday season, and from Nintendo’s perspective, it was hard work. The platform owner has released its quarterly financials – profit is down but on track, with industry production issues currently a particular concern for Nintendo – and release dates for upcoming games have been confirmed. The Animal Crossing 2.0 update came out a day earlier than expected and caused the islanders to download more than ever. Must love Brewster!
But now it’s time to relax and discuss our game plans for the weekend. Several metersThe Nintendo Life team members have done just that below, so feel free to read our entries and then join your own via our comment section. Enjoy!

Like many Switch owners, I’ll be playing Animal Crossing: New Horizons version 2.0, and I’ll also be stuck in the incredibly cute Happy Home Paradise DLC for review. I only did the introductory part, but it made me smile many… I also have a strange urge to finally start a second playthrough of Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Elsewhere I will rest with Forza horizon 5which is the only car franchise that got me hooked – obviously alongside Mario Kart.

What am I playing this weekend? Well, judging by the notifications that pop up every couple of minutes on my Switch, I think we’re all playing the same game: Puyo Puyo Tetris.
I’m kidding. I play the downloadable content Animal Crossing: New Horizons Happy Home Paradise or ACNHHHPDLC for short.

Hey guys! I’m still not quite ready to close the door on Halloween, so I’ll get caught up in a bit of gothic horror with the Castlevania Advance Collection. I’m also working on New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe after a long hiatus; By no means the best game in the series, but I love its lighthearted and laid-back nature.
As for Series X, I’d like to say that I play Forza Horizon 5, but I’m looking forward to its release on GamePass on Tuesday. Instead, I’ll brush up on some of the Halo multiplayer features with this fabulous new Orion “Macworld” armor. All the best!

“Spookvember“Here, ready to smash our wallets.” We don’t actually have true Halloween traditions in my country, but in a festive spirit this weekend I have a double dose of zombies lined up on Switch: Dying light and World War Z have to make sure my neighbors don’t leave long before the rumbling explosions from my audio system shake their living rooms (don’t worry, they are complete assholes). Tunce also a pleasure, and finally my physical edition Star Renegades arrived, really looking forward to it.
Game of the week Inazuma Eleven Strikers on the Wii. I pretty much gave up hopes of getting the final version of this on Switch, which is very annoying. Prove I’m Wrong, Level 5: Inazuma Eleven Ares is still real … isn’t it?

Cards on the table – There is often a big mismatch between my playing plans (as described here almost weekly) and the reality of my weekend.
This week I plan return to Animal Crossing and the DLC, explore the Age of Calamity DLC, play more Ocarina and Star Fox 64 with my gorgeous new NSO N64 controller, continue my Metroid Dread journey and start playing Alien: Isolation, which has been in my backlog.
Reality? I’ll probably take 20 minutes with a Tetris effect just before midnight. 20 great minutes.
All the best!
As always, thanks for reading! Be sure to leave us a comment on your game plans for the weekend!
