I’d be lying if I said that Chill Season 2022 “brought me back” to Splatoon 3, because the point is, I didn’t go anywhere. Okay, that sounded a little less intimidating in my head. I mean, it’s still a great game and the update did a particularly good job of giving me even more evidence that despite my extended hours of play, I’m still very bad at this game.
Looks like I’m nearing the end of Metroid Dread too. Despite my best efforts to stretch it out as long as possible, these damn suit upgrades really add up and my experience keeps getting better and better. Notice I didn’t google to confirm my progress. Who knows? Maybe I still have hours to play…

I still play Pokémon Violet – at the moment I’ve almost completed the Pokédex thanks to some friends from Scarlet. So I just jump into online raids and try to develop all my remaining Pokémon.
Sticking with Pokémon, I’m going to be picking up a New Pokémon Snap this weekend. I never bought it when it first came out and just played with my friends for a bit, but I was itching to get through it all – Pokemon, ecology and how they interact with each other are my favorite things about the series. , after all. And finally, I bought Mythic Ocean cheaply from an online store; I’ve wanted to try this for a long time, so this weekend seems like a good opportunity!

I also still enjoy Pokémon Scarlet, feeling like I’m exploring the world and going to places I shouldn’t be. It’s fun! I can’t help but love it, even though it’s a big pile of rubbish!!

Did you know that there is a demo version of Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star in the Japanese online store? I bet I’ll be screaming, “You’re already dead.” over the course of this weekend and probably until a real player shows up next March. Two physical arrivals took me back to Shin’en masterpieces: FAST RMX and The Touryst (need to break the records of those arcade games). I’ll also be trying out some great stuff from the eShop: Swordship, Astronite, Railbound, and the always brilliant Elevator Action -Returns- S-Tribute.
Game of the week – Front Mission 1st: Remake. There will never be a consensus on what this remake of the remake does and what it does wrong. It’s such a niche franchise that even today means different things to different people. The allure of the metal-legged giant stepping foot on Huffman’s Island again proved too exciting to miss.

It’s that time of year when I’m cramming to try out a whole bunch of games before posting GOTY picks, but for now I’ve been dipping my toes into different things (including Lunistice, Neon White, Return to Monkey Island, and Prodeus) and will be doing my best to give im more time, rogue legacy 2 pulls me back again and again to “just one more”.
I found myself in a similar position with the first Rogue Legacy – it completely robbed me of playing time until I got past it. So despite all the other things I need to play, I will do my best to get the latest version of Cellar Door out of my system. Good game.
As always, thanks for reading! Don’t forget to leave us a comment below with your game plans for the weekend!
