Video: Nintendo fixes* water emulation in Ocarina Of Time On Switch

If you look back at the launch of the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, it was a time of great joy as Nintendo fans around the world joined hands and sang Mario’s song. Well, actually, the conversation was about emulation standards, shaky button mapping and lack of fog. Nintendo didn’t live up to the expected standards for various reasons with the Nintendo 64 emulation, and a high-profile example was in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time.
The main problems were related to the lack of fog and reflections from the water, which significantly spoiled the atmosphere of the game in key areas. Well, it looks like the most recent app update that added Banjo-Kazooie has also changed the emulation with the improvements found in OoT. Solution not ideally, but it seems that the reflections in the water are at least better. Now, The Legend of Zelda: Majora’s Mask will get a lot of attention when it launches in February.
Our lovely video buddies Alex Olney and John Cartwright discuss it all in the video above, so be sure to check it out!
