Video game adaptation of ‘Kung Fury’ pays homage to streets of rage and it’s about to change

2015 crowdfunded film kung fury it’s the kind of movie that’s ripe for a Streets of Rage-style video game. And that’s exactly what he got – although our friends in Push Square weren’t particularly interested in it when they reviewed it. The lack of content at launch, aside from being able to beat up Nazis, was clearly disappointing. However, there have been some huge updates in the following years, and now Switch owners will get all that juicy content in one fist-sized package.

Hello There Games have announced that they will be releasing Kung Fury: Street Rage – Ultimate Edition to the system this summer. This release contains both Arcade Strikes Back as well as Day at the beach extensions, which means you can play as David Hasselhoff right from the start!

It’s a game that revels in the silliness and excess of 80s action movies, as does the movie, oddly enough!

Here’s everything you can expect from this full release:

5 playable characters with a unique playstyle:
-Kung Fury
-David Hasselhoff and his impressive chest hair!
-Hackerman
-Barvaranna
-Triceracop

Team up in a new multiplayer game mode:
– Co-op for 2 players
– Free movement with side scrolling Beat ‘Em Up
– Button madness!
– Each hero has a higher power
– New epic story campaign

Obviously we’re all excited to play Hoff, but Triceracop? Come on. It’s just amazing. The sequel is due out sometime this year, so there’s no better time to check out this game than when it comes out.

As the game comes out this summer, you can play Kung Fury: Street Rage – Ultimate Edition on the beach if you like! We think it would be ideal.

Let us know if you’ve seen the movie or want to watch this adaptation in the comments!
