UK Charts: Mario and Pokémon hold out for another strong week for Nintendo

Without any big new releases to speak of, the UK charts this week paint a picture very similar to what we might expect (except for the switch of positions three and four, the top nine positions are identical to last week). While God of War Ragnarok continues to rank first with games such as FIFA 23 and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II in second and third positions respectively, it was another successful week for Nintendo.

Once again, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was Nintendo’s top scorer in fourth place. It’s something we’ve gotten used to lately, but as the game approaches its 300th week on the charts (that’s its 298th), the stats continue to amaze.

Since then, Nintendo games have been in the top ten. The rest of the positions are taken by classics like Nintendo Switch Sports, Animal Crossing: New Horizons and Minecraft, relative newcomers in the form of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in fifth and seventh, and even the surprise arrival of New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe that jumps back into the charts at the bottom.

All said and done, this is a beautiful picture for Nintendo fans! Here’s your take on this week’s UK charts:
