Twitch shooting planned on Discord investigated as hate crime

On May 14, a tragedy occurred in New York with an 18-year-old white man. shot at least 10 people in Buffalo City, police said. The shooting took place at the Tops Friendly Market on Jefferson Street, a densely populated suburb in western New York State. According to local publication Buffalo News, the witness said the store was “full” and busy. Jimboboyi, identified by Buffalo police as Payton Gendron, drove up to the supermarket and immediately shot and killed four people in the parking lot, killing all but one. Gendron then entered the store, shooting several people, including a recently retired Buffalo police officer who was the store’s security guard.

The video of the incident has been removed from the web, although there are screenshots and short clips from the scene. The user has been suspended from our service indefinitely and we are taking all necessary action, including monitoring any accounts that relay this content.”
The shooter also mentioned 8chan as the place where he originally intended to post his plans, with the link to 4chan supposedly pointing to where the OG 8chan post would live. “We express our deepest condolences to the victims and their families and will do everything possible to assist law enforcement in their investigation,” the company said.
