The Witcher: Monster Slayer AR RPG Coming to Android and iOS July 21, Pre-Registration Available on Google Play

The Witcher: Monster Slayer worldwide will be released on Android and iOS on July 21. The free augmented reality (AR) role-playing game (RPG) was developed and published by Spokko, which was acquired by CD Projekt Capital Group back in 2018. The upcoming mobile game is available for pre-registration on Google Play. store, and those who pre-register will receive an in-game reward as part of their inventory. The Witcher: Monster Slayer is set in the Witcher universe based on books by author Andrzej Sapkowski and games developed by CD Projekt.

In a post last week, a Polish developer announced which The Witcher: Monster Slayer will release on July 21st. The game mechanics are similar to Pokemon Go, but with creatures and characters from the Witcher universe. Players will play as new “witchers” and experience location-based gameplay in which they will fight many monsters while physically exploring the world around them. The action takes place long before the Witcher series of games.

“In Monster Slayer, players will see the world around them, transformed into a kingdom of dark fantasy, known from the universe of The Witcher. As newly trained witchers, they will engage in location-based gameplay and advanced augmented reality features to track and hunt bloodthirsty monsters lurking nearby, ”CD Projekt said in a statement.

Spocco also made The Witcher: Monster Slayer available for pre-registration for Android users through the Google Play store. Those who pre-register will receive a weapon called Kaer Morhen’s Steel Sword, which will be added to their inventory when they start playing the game on July 21st. This sword gives players 10 percent more experience points in the game for killing monsters. Registration for early access to the game was lifted back in April.

As a reminder, The Witcher: Monster Slayer was announced last August along with a game video showcasing the variety of monsters in the game, quests and more. It will show a map of the region around the player and track his movements, generating quests or interactions with monsters throughout the region, like in Pokemon Go.
